Once you reach the top, you settle in at a simple viewpoint warung looking out over Mount Batur and the crater lake below. With the sun up and cloud still drifting through the valley, it makes a quiet, open spot to eat and rest after the climb.
Breakfast is part of the trek: a warm meal with tea or Bali coffee, set out at the viewpoint once you reach the top. Nothing fancy, just something hot and welcome after the cold climb, with the caldera and the lake spread out in front of you.
There's no rush over breakfast. Take your time, photograph the caldera in the early light, and enjoy the quiet before the island wakes up. When you're ready, the walk back down is straightforward and mostly downhill.
